My story

In the Spring of 2001, I brought home my 8 week old Australian shepherd puppy, Chloe. I was working long hours as a social worker, and knew I would need to hire a dog walker. After a couple of months away from my puppy during the day, I decided to "take the summer off" to spend time with her. I began working for a dog walking service and was able to spend the day with Chloe. Urban dog owners face unique life circumstances and like me, want the best for their pets while they are away. As a licensed social worker with 10 years experience, I realized that I could use my interpersonal skills with pet owners, and do what I love best, taking care of animals. I value good relationships with pet owners as well as their loved ones.

I launched Hounds about Town in the spring of 2002 and have never looked back. I now have two Australian shepherds, Chloe and Duffy, who help run my business.
